Keith M. "Matt" Maupin

OhioOIF — Pfc. Keith M. Maupin, 20, of Batavia, Ohio, became unaccounted for on April 9, 2004, when his convoy came under attack by individuals using rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. Maupin is assigned to the Army Reserve's 724th Transportation Company, Bartonville, Illinois. He was declared captured on April 16, 2004.

Update: After his capture, Pfc. Maupin was promoted to corporal and later to sergeant.

Update: On August 15, 2006, Sgt. Maupin was promoted to staff sergeant.

Update: On March 29, 2008, the reamins of Staff Sgt. Maupin were identified. Please see his memorial entry at American Heroes Memorial.

as anouther holiday season is upon us, Id like to take this time to honor the memory of this fine soldier. and pay my respects to the maupin family.
